phony - /ˈfoʊni/ - [foh-nee]

  • Not real usually used when something or somebody is not genuine or trying to mislead or deceive in an insincere manner.

E.g. He was such a phony salesman trying to sell me those phony holiday packages. I didn't trust him one bit.
