convoluted /ˈkɒnvəˌlutɪd/

Adjective
  1. Rolled, folded or coiled up, overlapping itself to form a twisted shape.

  2. To be overly complicated and in some respects confusing

E.g. - I going to meet with a relation of mine. He's my grandfather's daughter's son


- That's such a convoluted way of saying he's your brother!
